With most things in place, it seems like a good opportunity to say a big thank you to our sponsors, supporters and collaborators: The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Dubreq, and, of course, our stunning 'acts'.
The Glynn Vivian's offer to host the opening event was fantastic and really gave form to our plans. Thanks especially to Gordon Dalton.
Matt Hulse's immediate enthusiasm for Art's Birthday and in bringing The Audible Picture Show to Swansea was also fantastic and gave further form to our plans.
The Stylophone Orchestra of Great Britain's enthusiasm was similarly fantastic and plan-firming. As was Dubreq's fantastic enthusiasm for sponsoring the Stylophone Orchestra's gig. Given that Dubreq are THE manufacturers of the Stylophone it could not be more fitting that they do so. We have a feeling that this will be an historic occasion!
The input of Barry Hole's Hitlist presents Andy Candles and the Party Poppers as support act for the Stylophone Orchestra and contributors of new work for The Audible Picture Show only makes things more fantastic.
All in all it has made us realise that we didnt really have any plans before all of the above got involved. One last thing: this is the last Art's Birthday for a while that falls on a weekend - let's celebrate accordingly!

Project
This year we propose to make Art a book, which will be available online as a PDF. It will, however, be no ordinary book! Following this year's proposed global themes – 'Magical Music Machines' & 'Change' – could lead us to all manner of methods of creating the book! It will be linked to all the other celebrations for Art’s Birthday across the world.
‘Official’ celebrations begin on Firday 16th and end on Sunday 18th of January to ensure everyone around the world gets a fair chance to celebrate. We are going to start on Tues 13th at our very own Framework Social and end late on Saturday night at the Elysium Gallery! Tickets will be available for all other events during that week at the Social and from members of Framework.
Everyone is welcome to contribute in any way they feel appropriate to Art's book (perhaps: pictorially, sculpturally, sonically, verbally, scripturally, etc.) We will gather in Elysium Gallery, Swansea on Saturday 17th. Please come along and take part. If you are unable to pop by, the address to send material to is: abuk1701@gmail.com
Work may be of ANY subject, in ANY style, involve ANY media, etc. as long as one
sees the work as being something Art would like or failing that, that it relates to the day (17th January (2009)) or to your own birthday. Quality is not an issue - it’s the thought and gesture that count! Please help make a great contribution to this worldwide project. This is a unique opportunity!
Send them in person, digitally, with or without a comment, etc. etc. And please could you name any files after yourself (eg. BarnabyD001.tif)
We hope this all sounds like fun! Write it in your diary! Join in with the Swansea events or make your own day, meal, evening or perhaps only 10 minutes of it! Just send us an image!
